About

Greetings
I'm Emma Joy, a cross-disciplinary designer and artist dedicated to uplifting ideas that foster harmony between people and the planet.
What sets me apart is my diverse design background. I started as, and am still, an artist. I share my art on my Instagram, virtual.emma. Art led me to pursue a creative degree in architecture. In the U of A 5-year NAAB accredited architecture program, I became obsessed with visual communication. That obsession brought me to my first professional position as a Digital Designer at a 20 person design agency called Brink. At Brink, I learned how to apply digital communication in the "real-world" by working with clients big and small (such as University of Arizona, Arizona Arts Live, Vantage West Credit Union). My first website, Pidgin Palace Arts, sparked my journey into freelance digital design.
Since November of 2021, I have been operating as a freelance designer under Emma Joy Design LLC. I've worked with clients ranging from academics, non-profits, and events. The past 4 years as a one-woman design studio have taught me the front and back-end skills that it takes to be a effective designer and business owner.
